when using a comma instead of a semicolon, nothing is echoed, also when the loop is uncommented and/or in an uncalled function.

echo "start":
for( $x=0;$x<100,$x++)
{
      echo $x;
}
echo "end";

Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PHP itself. For a
list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PHP, please
visit http://www.php.net/support.php as this bug system is not the
appropriate forum for asking support questions.

Thank you for your interest in PHP.

Nothing is echoed because you don't have error reporting turned on and there is a syntax error in your code.
