The new CLI mode on 4.3 version is s'pose to have the max_execution_time overiden to 0.  This doesn't seem to be happening.

As I mentioned to Marcus before, he broke this.

At this time it is the intended behavior. You are expected to have a dedicated ini file for CLI or have no ini for CLI. The latter can simply be accomplished by invoking CLI with parameter -n which suppresses ini parsing. I leave this still open yet.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged
every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. You can
grab the snapshot at http://snaps.php.net/.
 
In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up soon at
http://www.php.net/manual/.

In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites in short time.
