At one point in time, I submitted a bug and as time went on, and after several new releases of PHP were released, I got a response saying that the bug had been fixed in the latest release. I thought it was great that the bug had been fixed and forgot about it. Later on I received another email saying that the bug had not been fixed and that it was still crawling around.

If I had received an email stating that the problem was fixed and it would be great if I could download the latest version (were the fix has been applied) and confirmed that it was in fact fixed, it could have saved a lot of problems.

I am asking for a system to be set up to notify when bugs have been fixed and ask if possible, that the person who submitted the bug confirm it.

I think it would be a great way to have willing PHP users do more and to lessen the load of the backs of the PHP developers / testers.

This would also be a great feature to add to the bug reports, imagine PHP who allows notification to interested parties when bugs that are effecting them have been fixed. It could also be used to gage the how many people the bug is effecting, by how may people have signed up! I don?t have to mention how important this information could be to the developers fixing the bugs.

The current bug system is really basic and does not allow such stuff to be even added. (it would require total rewrite)

Unless you're willing to provide the work or pay someone
to do this, this is 'Wont fix'.

where can i go to see the source code of bugs.php.net (CVS)?

I would be up to contribute some work but dont want to do an entire rewrite!
