I am running Apache 2.0.36 with PHP 4.2.1

I have obtained the fixes from microsoft for the OS as stated in the Knowledge base.

php.exe works very well except in certain area's... same as php4apache2.dll

With php4apache2.dll, there seems to be a problem with the authorization capabilities as it likes to "forget" about the user who just logged in and have them login an infinate amount of times. with php.exe the authorization routines work perfectly, however when running a script which scans directories, and catalogues images it hangs while the SAPI module does not. I have tried this with many different configurations to eliminate the possibility of configuration errors. These bugs are reproducable. To see the bugs for yourself use the following:

YabbSE (Forums) (http://www.yabb.info) with php4apache2.dll
JJ_Gallery (Photo Gallery)(http://www.wilib.com/jj/) with php.exe

The PHP distro was the zip version of 4.2.1 obtained from php.net

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the only solution that I can see would be to possibly run multiple web servers for either php.exe or php4apache2.dll, and that would consume a large amount of resources. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For an accurate reproduction of the problem with the image gallery, the gallery conatins approximately 1280 images. They are categorized in different directories which the script reads (including sub directories).

Preferably I would like to use php4apache2.dll. It covers me in all but one area (authentication). I would be willing to use php.exe if the hanging with that script would stop.

Thank you again

Why don't you just use Apache 1.3.x instead? Apache2+PHP is not fully baked yet.

as for apache ver 1.3.x ... I have had some problems with that version series. 2.0.x for the most part works great for me.
