in http://de.php.net/manual/de/class.variant.php
(german translation of the manual):

VARIANT

(unknown)
VARIANT -- VARIANT Klasse
Synopsis

$vVar = new VARIANT($var)

Beschreibung

Ein einfacher Container, um Variablen VARIANT Strukturen zu verpacken.

There is missing the word 'in' between 'Variablen' and 'VARIANT'. The correct sentence must be something like:

Ein einfacher Container, um Variablen in VARIANT Strukturen zu verpacken.
