When I want information about the 'str_replace()' function, I can type 'http://php.net/str_replace' in my browser and the manual page shows up perfectly. Personaly I think that is a very handy feature.

To spare the servers at php.net, I mostly use a mirror, like nl.php.net. Unfortunatly the url 'http://nl.php.net/str_replace' returns a HTTP 404 error.

Could it be possible for the mirrors to have the same auto-search functionality as the main php site?

This is supposed to work on the mirrors. Apparently it's broken on this mirror. I'll contact the webmaster of that mirror.

Both mirrors have fixed their sites. Thanks for the report.
