I use str_replace() a lot in the stuff I'm doing--is it true it no longer works in 3.0.7 and it only works in 3.0.6 (according to your on-line manual--use your quick ref button and search for str_replace)? If so, is there a work-around or replacement function?

Also, when someone inputs text into a blob/text field in versions before 3.0.6, the quotes and double quotes show up with backslashes, e.g., \' or \"

Text output is okay with 3.0.6 though.

Fixed in CVS. Hold your breath for PHP 3.0.8.
