Is it possible to have the IMap function accept authentication over SMTP? Currently they dont support it, but there are times (increasingly more and more) where you need to authenticate with a mail server that has turned off mail relaying.

Refer: RFC2554

URL: ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc2554.txt

I have had to resort to using an exteral cgi to send my emails rather than php becuase of this issue.

Adding a flag to make authentication required would be useful
to. Scripts that send mail through localhost would be forced
to authenticate, thus leaving a log trail.
