When starting Apache, it reports a failure to load the module because the httpd.conf file believes the .so file is in the wrong place.

It is installed installed as:
/usr/libexec/apache/mod_php3.so

Modifying the httpd.conf file to reflect this permits Apache to start without further compalints.

Apache RPM version is 1.3.3-1.

This is not a PHP problem, but a problem of the package maintainer.
