I am using Apache 1.3.17 on a Windows 2000 machine that also has the Sybase Client (System 11) installed. When I uncomment php_sybase_ct.dll in the php.ini I am getting an illegal operation message when a php page is invoked in the browser. I get the message even if the php page does NOT have any sybase function calls. ODBC works fine, but I need to be able to use the code to a UNIX system.

Are you using PHP as an ApacheModule or via CGI? If your using the module version this could indicate that the Sybase extension is not thread-safe.

Fixed in CVS. Fix will be in PHP 4.0.6.
