I am not able to install the manual.prc file (from www.php.net/distributions) onto my Palm 3.
Palm Desktop for Windows reports "Invalid Palm organizer file deleted -- manual.prc"; 
pilot-xfer for unix hangs and must be aborted.

Some possible explanations...:
 -- the www.php.net web server is sending .prc files with an incorrect MIME type, such as text/plain
 -- the file itself is corrupt
 -- my PalmOS (ver. 3.0) is too old to handle this file

it is sent as text/plain so it might get damaged when 
fetched using a non-*NIX system 

the current file at http://php.net/distributions/manual.prc
should have a size of  562,515 Bytes

if yours is longer then some LF->CRLF conversion 
might have taken place ...
