Hi,

I find it unclear what timezone the bugs.php.net reports use. For example, this bug will have a 'submitted at' timestamp which could look something like "20 Feb 8:16am". It's not clear to me what timezone this would be in. It is certainly something vastly different from my timezone. I have always wondered about this but never asked, because I noticed that at the bottom of bugs.php.net report pages there is the note "Last updated: X X X X CST". Is that to say that the bug reports themselves are listed using "CST"?

I finally tried to track this down and with a bit of man page reading and Google use, found that it probably corresponds to the POSIX CST6CDT timezone, which would be either GMT-6h or GMT-5h. However, I'm still not clear which of those two the PHP bugs are in.

Having spend this time tracking it down and not getting an answer, I suspect this is (in a sense) a user interface bug.

If the bugs are reported in CST, could you either explain CST or emit times in GMT/UTC please? Either way, if you could put the timezone label after the submitted/modified information, that would clarify the situation somewhat (even if you were to resort to saying UTC-5/6 [pick one :] rather than just using UTC).

This arose for me most recently because I find I cannot work out when e-mail was sent relative to when bugs/comments were posted. In fact, part of the reason I'm submitting this bug is so that I can compare my current time with what the subsequent bug report says. So I guess I'll have the answer to my question, soon!

I added the timezone info to dates now.
(and it takes a while before the change gets into bugs.php.net..)

Thanks for the patch. It appears fine for both recent reports and reports that are more than a year old (i.e. those that have the date format showing the year explicitly). However, it doesn't facilitate the relationship between bug reports and e-mail (since there is no explanation of what CST is). For anyone else reading this, my test appears to indicate to me that CST is six hours behind GMT (as at 19th/20th February 2003).

FYI: CST is Central Standard Time,

UTC-6
