Its possible to use
http://www.php.net/<search>
to search direct over the php.net website.

If i try http://www.php.net/required i get a nice list of
all results.

If i try this on the DE mirror i get this funny redirect.

anymirror.php.net/<search> does not work

I'm guessing that's what he means, as it's the truth :)  Each mirror seems to have different problems, try uk.php.net for example.
