The documentation here:

http://php.net/manual/en/language.exceptions.extending.php

Provides an old version of the Exception base class which does not implement the Throwable interface.  As such its guidance is poor for new PHP code.

Literally the only difference is adding "implements Throwable" into the definition, and that doesn't affect how to extend the class.
