When handling a request the webserver does not respond to Ctrl+C on the command line. This is kind of problematic for a development server since you can't expect to have finished code that performs fast to be there. So it can be that wrong code just takes a long time waiting at some point.

Thanks for the report. I don't reproduce this with 5.6+ by using just while(1); as a script. It might be, that some other code in your script or in a non-core extensions blocks the interrupt signal. But we need an exact reproduce case to be able to debug this.
