Installing from pecl results in and which suggests a disconnect between librabbitmq-c 0.9.1 and PECL 2.2.

$ pecl install "channel://pecl.php.net/amqp-0.2.2"

Reproduce code:

Installing the latest version of librabbitmq-c solves this. 
Perhaps a stricter configure check is required and possibly 
with better messaging.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.
