I have PHP 5.2.4 running on Apache 2.2.6 and the gcc version i'm using as you can see is gcc version 3.4.5. I'm running the latest OpenSSL 0.9.8f and had compiled  	libssh2-0.17.tar.gz as specified here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.ssh2.php

Here is what i get when trying to compile with phpize && ./configure --with-ssh2 && make

I also tried using pecl install ssh2-beta and I get the same errors below:
