Description:
------------
(was a mail to webmaster list, but a feature request here should be more suitable)

I'd like to propose an (untested) patch for the release promotion mails:
http://www.markwiesemann.eu/php/pearweb_release_promotion.patch

Changes (each change two times: for v1 and v2 of package.xml)
- use more suitable lengths for the "rules" below the "categories" of the mails
- show whether the person is inactive (code adopted from
package-info.php; the query used in package::info for getting the authors also fetches the 'active' field from the database, so this should work as expected)

The patch looks fine for me. Anyone else?

I will test it and commit, it looks ok but I prefer a little test before :)

Looking at your patch made me wonder if inactive developers should be listed in the mails at all? It is unlikely that they are willing to answer support questions, which is the reason for listing the authors there in the first place.

My intention was to give these people credits. But as the mail are sent out for single releases, credits are enough for the actively working people. Credits for the package itself are given on the package info page on the website.

=> I'm fine with showing only the active people.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET).

If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly.

Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.

Thank you for the report and for helping us make PEAR better.
