Greetings,

I've been building php into servers on Solaris and Linux for the last year or so and have found the documentation to be very good.

Today, when I tried to make php4 on an SGI, the make command returned the following:

make: file `/usr/build/www/php-4.0.0/build/program.mk' line 29: Syntax error

I tried it with multiple options, started over with a clean set or files from the tar serveral times and had the same error. I thought maybe it was the version of make on my system, so I went and built the latest version of php3 as a sanity check. It worked fine.

I wish I could give you more clues, but alas, I'm not a propeller head like you guys.

G'luck, and feel free to contact me if you would like any more info, or like me to try making it again.
