when I writting php script in big5 encoding , I find a strange thing , I simply type 

<?php
echo "&#27743;&#38748;&#20446;" ;
?>

in big5 encoding,it show me a 

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in D:\lab\bug\test.php on line 3

than I change encoding to utf-8, it works fine, the key cahracter is '&#20446;',also the same as some other special characters, it's a bug ?

you must change the "&#27743;&#38748;&#20446;" back to real characters...

Did you enable multibyte support in your build? 
In *nix you need to use --enable-zend-multibyte in your configure line.
I don't know what the option is in win32 configure though. :)
