Hi,
I downloaded the latest version of the chm docs (17/05/2006), and i can't get search highlighting to work. It worked perfectley on the earlier manual version on same computer, so I don't think it's the viewer's problem. Also tried it on another comp with same result.

apart from that the chm is splendid, thanx so much, people

Hi,
I downloaded the latest version of the extended chm docs (17/05/2006), and i
can't get search highlighting to work. It worked perfectley on the
earlier manual version on same computer, so I don't think it's the
viewer's problem. Also tried it on another comp with same result.

apart from that the chm is splendid, thanx so much, people

ok, that was a bad attempt to change the original post

Can you still reproduce the problem?

CHM or xCHM (Extended - includes user notes and skin capabilities)?

With the xCHM has long failed to provide search highlighting when using the phpZ skin. This is because the actual page is "reformed" on the fly to include the user notes and to assign the CSS. This process inhibits the highlighting capabilities of the help program.

Having just downloaded the standard CHM file from http://uk3.php.net/get/php_manual_en.chm/from/a/mirror, I can confirm that syntax highlighting works fine.

Downloading the xCHM zip file from http://uk3.php.net/get/php_manual_chm.zip/from/a/mirror, and using all the skins, I can confirm that this is still an issue.

If it is at all possible, do you still have the original download?

If so, could you supply a URL for it?

well,

it is a long time since i filed this bug. I might have the original file still at home if that is worth it ill put it up for download. However, it seems that rguadling reports the situation being exact like the one in 2006. (see the second post of 29 may)

It works on standard version and not in extended version.

let me know if i have to look for the original files still...

greets

What I'm trying to determine is if it has ever worked on the xCHM. It is my understanding of how the HTML Help reader works that is will not have worked. Ever.

But, if you have a working xCHM file then I'd love to see it so I can dissect it and get the current one working.

I believe it is the loading of CSS dynamically that is the problem.
