A bug fix was posted on this site in August of last year

http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=23220

I have tested this and it works fine. however, the fix was not included in the latest release of PHP.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.

i understand that the bug was submitted previously, but it was submitted before the release of 4.3.5RC2. A fix was also submitted for this bug, but it was not implemented in this version of php.
