i have installed php in win98 it is working perfectly now i want to connect with the mssql which is peresent in my system but it is giving me the following eorror

Fatal error:calling to an unknown function mssql_connect 

please give me a solution so that i can correct this bug

You need to make sure the mssql module is loaded in your 
php.ini
