When click downloads on php website, get a blank page using either opera v.6.05 build 1140, jre 1.4 or IE 5.50.4522.1800 sp1. Zone alarm v2.6.362 is installed. View Source in opera shows: GIF89a and a lot of non-printable characters.

I cannot reproduce this with Mozilla 1.2.1 or IE6...

This seems to be happening again this morning.

Tried:
IE 6.0.2800.1106 and
Mozilla 1.2.1
under Windows 2000.

In fact, the whole www.php.net site seems to have an intermittant connection.

The download links aren't responding for me from any of the us?.php.net mirrors either... not even for Lynx under Debian Woody.

Let me make a quick theory: The mirror sites download links are all powered by a common site that they fetch off of a primary web site / ftp site / SQL engine. Wouldn't it be a better idea for these scripts to operate independantly?

We have stats on a master site. The stats page is loaded with some timeout settings, so if the timeout is passed, the script will end execution, and the file will go out to Apache, and to the browser... This makes download links a bit slow when the master server is down, but they should work...

BTW I'll add a flush() to that page...

Please provide feedback if you have a better solution...
