make is Ok, make install fails:

make[1]: Entering directory '/opt/php-4.2.3'
/usr/sbin/apxs -i -a -n php4 libphp4.la
/usr/lib/httpd/build/instdso.sh SH_LIBTOOL='/usr/lib/httpd/build/libtool' libphp4.la /usr/lib/httpd/modules
sh: line 1: /usr/lib/httpd/build/instdso.sh: No such file or directory

True statement; /usr/lib/httpd/(build,modules) are there,
and build/libtool, but not 'instdso.sh'.

configure: --with-xml --with-ldap --with-config-file-path=/etc --with-interbase=/opt/interbase --localstatevar =/var --program-prefix= --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --with-apxs2=/usr/sbin/apxs --enable-bcmath --with-pear=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --target=i386-redhat-linux-gnu --build=i686-pc-linux-gnu --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --enable-inline-optimization

Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PHP itself. For a
list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PHP, please
visit http://www.php.net/support.php as this bug system is not the
appropriate forum for asking support questions.

Thank you for your interest in PHP.

Apache 2 is not installed automatically like Apache 1 is. To install, it you need to follow the instructions inside the sapi/apache2filter/README file.

Reply to responder - no, its not a PHP problem. Found missing file at Apache.org in latest version. Problably should mention it to Redhat - Apache2 is the new default in rh 8.0. Thanks for your attention.
