The session functions do not works.  when you call session_register, it does write in a file (on my system /tmp/sess_[SESSID]) the session variables, but calling session_is_registered, and retrieving the varables doesn't work even if you set register global vars to on or off or enable track vars to on or off
 './configure' '--with-pgsql=shared,/usr/local/pgsql' '--with-apxs' '--with-gd' '--enable-trans-sid' '--with-xmlrpc' '--with-expat-dir=/usr/local' '--with-ldap=shared'
