Feature Request:

Currently, set_time_limit() has a void return. There is no way to determine at runtime (from within the script) whether or not the call succeeded.

I would like for set_time_limit() to return a value indicating whether or not it was successful. It would be helpful to have a boolean return value which would return TRUE if set_time_limit() succeeded and the default max_execution_time was overridden, or FALSE if the default max_execution_time could not be overridden.

This bug has been fixed in CVS. You can grab a snapshot of the
CVS version at http://snaps.php.net/. In case this was a documentation 
problem, the fix will show up soon at http://www.php.net/manual/.
