It seems to me, that regular expression doesn't work with international character-set. When the regexpr-compiler sees an non-english character it simply stops processing the remaining string.

For example:

$foo = ereg("([0-9]+):([a-zA-Z??????]*):([0-9]+)", "0:???Abcb:10", $out);

Doesn't process the regular expression correctly. 

I have tried to do a set_locale("da_DK...").

Thank you for taking the time to report a problem with PHP.
Unfortunately, PHP 3 is no longer supported. Please download
the latest version of PHP 4 from http://www.php.net/downloads.php

If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest
versions of PHP, please change the PHP version on this bug report
to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open".
