What does not work? Please add a short script so that we can check what goes wrong.

The parser say's:
Call to undefined function: recode_string() in ... . 

So, is the function not implemented?

You haven't compiled your php version with support for recode. It depends on an external librecode library.

Next time, please read the "do's and don'ts" and ask such question at php-general@lists.php.net
