Description:
------------
Since upgrading to 7.0.6, exec() commands started failing, silently and sporadically. It happens for hours at a time, then stops. It has only affected our three most busy servers. Perhaps a file handle leak or similar?

This had never happened previously in 5 months of PHP7. It has never happened again since reverting to 7.0.5.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, because we had to revert quickly. I'd like to see if anyone else has experienced this. Something changed with 7.0.6. See another bug which shows a leak of committed memory since 7.0.6: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=72391

Is this still an issue for you with any of the actively supported
PHP versions[1]?
