OK, ac_output for tests dir in config.m4 will be called conditionally in next minor release (maybe next week)

workaround: install extension via phpize:

# sudo wget http://pecl.php.net/get/rrd-1.0.0.tgz
# tar -xzf rrd-1.0.0.tgz
# cd rrd-1.0.0
# phpize
# ./configure
# make
# make install

So, I was little bit quicker, there is new release 1.0.1 with fixed this "pecl install" problem.
