Not having an rss feed of releases means that users can't easily get a list (machine readable) unless they use the news rss feed. The news feed isn't the easiest thing to extract information from automatically.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.
