PHP throws me an error if I redefine a function within my code. However, within a class, I can redefine a function as many times as I please, and PHP is more than happy to execute my code.

Is this expected behaviour?

yes it's expected behavior... at least according to Jani

i should correctly quote Jani... he said he believes it's normal. Sorry about the confusion.
