#38452 (OSX, gcc-4.0.1) also occurs with Linux and
gcc-4.1.0.

With the latest snapshop (php5.2-200609210830)
the --enable-mbstring parameter works.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
will be in the next snapshot. You can grab the snapshot at
http://snaps.php.net/.
