could be possible to add a configuration directive
for setting sybase client's charset?

(and add something like 
DBSETLCHARSET(sybase.login, SYBASE_CHARSET);
after
DBSETLAPP(sybase.login,php3_sybase_module.appname);
in ext/sybase/sybase.c)
