http://www.php.net/version4/migration.php says you cannot run PHP3 and PHP4 concurrently.  That's not true on all platforms as of 4.0 Beta 4.  Some folks won't even notice the "Install" file in PHP4 beta 4 says differently because they'll look at the migration page FIRST, and not bother to even try.
