Tried this on HP-UX 11 as well on the same system
I have another disk with HP-UX 11 installed on it, so
I can "dual boot".

HP-UX B.11.00 A (Nov 1999 release)
Same versions of s/w.
The GNU tools were built for HP-UX 11.
Same configuration.

Identical output.

You may want to try the current CVS, as I commited some changes that should hopefully make it compile on HP-UX.

As far as I know the bug is fixed in the current CVS release. Closing.
