Here is a nice little oddity,

	I tried to add the Zend optimizer to PHP 4.0.0 on Solaris 2.7 with apache
1.3.12. Here are the setups for php / apache:

PHP configure:
./configure --disable-debug --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --with-mysql --en
able-track-vars

PHP_CONFIG.H (In php-4.0.0 source):
#define ZEND_DEBUG 0

PHP.INI:
[Debugger]
debugger.host   =       localhost
debugger.port   =       7869
debugger.enabled        =       False

APACHE:
./configure --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a --enable-module=php
4 --enable-module=so --prefix=/www

	So as far as I can tell debugging is turned off, but when I try to add the
optimizer, it fails to show up, and the phpinfo() returns:

ZEND_DEBUG enabled

	Is there any reason why everything points to the debugger being off, and
phpinfo saying its on, or am I compiling it wrong?

	Any help would be appricaited

Please verify that it?s still happening using the latest version of PHP (release 4.0.1pl2 or CVS).

Closed due to missing user feedback.
AFAIK php4 has no debugger...
