I've followed the instructions for running php3 and php4 concurrently as per the instructions at http://www.us.php.net/version4/migration.php , but I've been unable to do this. I can run them simultaneously with one being run through cgi, but that won't work for my situation. I've also fixed the apxs script as described in the PHP3 FAQ, so that the configure script doesn't complain about having a broken apxs. I've been able to get both versions' modules to compile and load individually, but if I try to use them both at the same time, I get a segfault. Loading php4 first caused an immediate segfault, and loading php3 first caused all the children to run and then immediately segfault. Any help would be most appreciated.

As a side note, I compiled the modules and tried to run them earlier without running 'make install'. the install directive did something with apxs, which made the behavious change to that one I described above. But if I ran the modules that had been compiled, I would get an immediate segfault loading php4 first, but loading php3 first would result in these error messages:

And here's my configure options:

php4: --with-ftp --with-gd=../gd1.4 --with-ttf=../freetype-1.3.1 --with-mysql --enable-track-vars --with-xml --with-mck=../cybercash/ --with-gettext --disable-debug --with-imap --enable-versioning --with-apxs=/usr/local/apachetest/bin/apxs

Please verify that it?s still happening using the latest version of PHP (release 4.0.1pl2 or CVS).
