after running configure:
(./configure --with-msql=/var/msql --with-apache=/usr/var/apache_1.2.4 --with-config-file-path=/etc --with-gd=/var/gd1.3 --enable-track-vars) I get a compiling error of:

gcc -g -O2 -O2   -I. -I.   -I/usr/var/apache_1.2.4/src       -I/var/msql/include
         -I/var/gd1.3    -c functions/microtime.c -o functions/microtime.o

As a workaround, edit /usr/var/apache_1.2.4/src/httpd.h and change the

#include "conf.h"

to

#if 0
#include "conf.h"
#endif

Once PHP is compiled completely, substitute the 0 with 1 and proceed.
