Suggestions:

Add a new optional parameter in the mysql_fetch_array() function to move the internal pointer to the previous row in the result set. This can also be applyed to another fetch functions that work the same way.

The mysql_data_seek() can also work in a relative method, moving the pointer 'n' rows before the actual row or 'n' rows after it.

I don't know if this is possible, but I think this will be very useful.

The "classic" mysql extension won't receive new features.
