When you mistype reset(X) instead of reset($X) script
dies [probably at parse state] without any diag/output.
When you're mistyping in complex script it's hard to
understand where's error.

Type foo.php and see results

<?
reset(X);
die("foo");
?>

please check your error_reporting settings in php.ini

i'm pretty sure you have something like
error_reporting=7 or error_reporting=15 in there

theese were valid settings in php3 but php4 has some
additional error states so you should use the symbolic
E_* constants instead

error_reporting=E_ALL or error_reporting=E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
are the equivalents to the values 15 or 7 in php3
