Hello,

i configured php4.0.3p1 is ./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache 

and configured mod_ssl as well.
after compiling and installing everything including apache, it give the error that apache uses standard DSO and should be recompiled with -DEAPI option, to make sure that httpd does not crash (it will not even start.... so it can't crash).

HELP. I can't seam get php4 to use DEAPI. Please advise.

Please refer to the mod_ssl INSTALL file. 

Short tip, right order is:

1. configure mod_ssl
2. make apache
3. configure and make php.  (and to compile php as DSO, use --with-apxs
NOT --with-apache)

There is no bug in PHP regarding this. Please ask further questions
on php-install@lists.php.net or php-general@lists.php.net .
