./configure --prefix=/opt/php4 ... --with-zlib-dir=/usr --with-zlib=/usr ... ... checking for compress in -lz... yes ... checking for gzgets in -lz... no configure: error: Zlib module requires zlib >= 1.0.9. Environment: gcc 2.95.2 /usr/include /usr/include/zconf.h /usr/include/zlib.h /usr/lib /usr/lib/libz.a /usr/lib/libz.so /usr/lib/libz.so.1 /usr/lib/libz.so.1.1.3 libz.a as well as libz.so contain gzgets() for sure and compilation of: #include "confdefs.h" char gzgets();int main() { gzgets() ; return 0; } compiles without any errors linked against -lz and returns 0. There are no other libz s on the system. So why complains configure about not having gzgets() ? Any hints, how to fix/debug that problem ?
