Description:
------------
Request for clarification of mysql() functions page with reguards to mysql 4.1 and now 5+

Is it possible to install mysql 4.1 or 5+ and compile php with mysql() functions as long as you don't expect to access full functionality? Meaning must I use mysqli() functions with 4.1, 5+?
