The German version of the manual has a very short entry for count(). For over 3 1/2 years count() has a second paramter, which allows to count an array recursive.

Also an object, which implements SPL's Countable, returns the value returned by the count method.

Both are mentioned in the English version of the manual. I tried to find out if an other version of the docs can be found in CVS, but could find out, where to look for it.

Translations have always some delay. If you want to help German documentation team with the translation, please contact them at doc-de@lists.php.net.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
