RFC 2822 obsoleted 822 in April 2001 and as 822 doesn't permit 4-digit years, whereas date("r") clearly outputs 4 digits, the man-page should reflect that.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
