Bug #23304 imap_fetchbody crash
Submitted: 2003-04-22 05:23 UTC Modified: 2003-04-22 21:19 UTC
From: cwl_999 at hotmail dot com Assigned:
Status: Not a bug Package: Reproducible crash
PHP Version: 4CVS-2003-04-22 (stable) OS: NT4 SP6a
Private report: No CVE-ID: None
 [2003-04-22 05:23 UTC] cwl_999 at hotmail dot com
The following code produces an abnormal program termination.

The imap_fetchbody has deliberately been written to access a message that doesn't exist (e.g. when someone else is modifying the mailbox).

I s'pect the expected behaviour should be a catchable warning.

<?
	if ($mbox = @imap_open ("{10.5.0.4:110/pop3}INBOX", "***", "***"))
	{
		imap_fetchheader($mbox, 1);
		imap_fetchbody($mbox, 3, "1");
	}
?>

Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PHP itself. For a
list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PHP, please
visit http://www.php.net/support.php as this bug system is not the
appropriate forum for asking support questions.

Thank you for your interest in PHP.

PHP replies on the output of the mail_fetchbody_full() function, which is part of the client library. Therefor there is nothing php can do if that function does crash.
