I am trying to use gd-2.0.1 with php and I get the following compile error:

Stop in /home/matt/src/php4.

Please note that this error does not occur with the builtin gd (the builtin was giving me a signal 10 while using jpgraph so I am trying the external).  RC2 does not give this error in either.

Use the bundled gd library for now, the external gd lib has a bug, which causes the problem you are experiencing.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged
every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. You can
grab the snapshot at http://snaps.php.net/.
 
In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up soon at
http://www.php.net/manual/.

In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites in short time.
