In http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.pg-lo-import.php
you describe parameters as path,connection but in 
4.2 it is connection,path (it changed in 4.2). It also should be mentioned in Release Notes for 4.2 because it broke my 
site. I have not tested yet pg_lo_export behaviour but
doc for it is also wrong.

This bug has been fixed in CVS. You can grab a snapshot of the
CVS version at http://snaps.php.net/. In case this was a documentation 
problem, the fix will show up soon at http://www.php.net/manual/.
In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites.

I wanted to keep old API, but there is bug. It's been fixed about a month ago. 4.2.2 will support old API again.
